Incident Details: According to Port of San Diego Harbor Police, officers responded at approximately 11:30 p.m. to the westbound lanes near the 4400 block of North Harbor Drive following a report of a person down. They discovered an adult woman with severe injuries believed to have been caused by a vehicle strike. Despite lifesaving efforts, the woman died at the scene. She has not yet been identified.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Police say the vehicle involved fled before officers arrived and may have sustained front-end damage in the crash. The Harbor Police are investigating the collision as a fatal hit-and-run and are working to identify the driver and vehicle involved.
