41-Year-Old Moped Driver Critically Injured in East Side San Antonio Crash with 18-Wheeler

San Antonio, TX (March 28, 2025) – A 41-year-old woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Friday evening following a collision between her moped and an 18-wheeler on the East Side of San Antonio, according to local police.

Accident Details: The crash occurred just after 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Farm-to-Market 1346 and North Foster Road. According to San Antonio Police, the driver of the 18-wheeler was heading east on East Houston Street/FM 1346 and began making a left turn onto North Foster Road when the truck collided with a westbound 2022 Honda NVA motorcycle (moped).

The woman riding the moped was thrown from the vehicle and “spun out of control” due to the force of the crash. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition but was listed as stable on Saturday morning. No other injuries were reported.

Legal Considerations: Crashes involving large commercial trucks and smaller vehicles like mopeds often highlight the risk disparity between vehicle types. Investigators will likely examine whether the truck driver had a clear view before turning and whether the woman had the right-of-way. If the 18-wheeler made a premature or unsafe turn, the injured moped rider may be able to pursue a personal injury claim tied to the driver’s negligence.

Data from surveillance cameras, witness accounts, and vehicle angles will help clarify responsibility for the crash.

Ongoing Investigation: The San Antonio Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident. Authorities have not released the names of those involved or announced any citations or charges at this time.

I hope the injured woman receives the care she needs and makes a strong recovery.
