Sacramento Man Killed, Two Teens Injured in Jeep Rollover Crash on I-5 in Anderson

Anderson, CA (April 1, 2025) – A 25-year-old man from Sacramento was killed early Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle collision on northbound Interstate 5 near Balls Ferry Road that resulted in a Jeep careening off the roadway and rolling down an embankment.

Incident Details: The crash occurred around 1:20 a.m. when a white Jeep SUV rear-ended a blue Mazda sedan driven by a 64-year-old man from Washington. The Jeep then broke through a guardrail and rolled down an embankment, while the Mazda came to rest in the center divide. The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene. Two male passengers in the Jeep, aged 16 and 18 and also from Sacramento, were hospitalized. The 16-year-old sustained minor injuries, and the 18-year-old suffered major injuries. The driver of the Mazda was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The California Highway Patrol stated that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash. However, investigators will assess the speed of the Jeep, roadway conditions, and whether the driver or vehicle occupants were wearing seatbelts. In collisions involving multiple passengers and fatalities, survivors and families may consider personal injury or wrongful death claims to help cover medical bills, funeral costs, and other damages stemming from the incident.

Our thoughts are with the families of all involved.
