Long Beach, CA (January 30, 2025) – A deadly crash on the Long Beach (710) Freeway claimed the life of a passenger and left another occupant injured.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the driver of an SUV lost control, causing the vehicle to slam into a freeway sign and veer off the road. One passenger, identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Rico Pallares, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other occupant was transported to a hospital in an unknown condition.
