Glasgow, KY (March 28, 2025) – Two people were hospitalized Friday following a collision between a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck at a busy intersection in Glasgow, according to local police.
Accident Details: The crash occurred at the intersection of Veterans Outer Loop and West Main Street. Robin Dotson was driving southbound on Veterans Outer Loop and attempted to turn left onto West Main Street. During the turn, Dotson entered the path of a Freightliner driven by Marquise Bates, resulting in a collision.
The force of the crash caused the semi-truck to leave the roadway, strike a fence, and come to rest in a nearby field. Both Dotson and Bates were transported to TJ Samson Hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been publicly disclosed.
Legal Considerations: When a crash occurs during a left-hand turn, investigators often evaluate right-of-way violations and driver judgment. In this case, law enforcement may assess whether Dotson misjudged the distance or speed of the approaching semi. Investigators may also review traffic signal patterns, visibility, and vehicle data.
If either party is determined to have acted negligently, the injured driver could have grounds to pursue compensation for hospital bills and other losses related to the crash.
Ongoing Investigation: The Glasgow Police Department is continuing to investigate the collision. No citations or charges have been reported at this time. The roadway was reopened after the vehicles were removed and the scene cleared.
I wish both Robin Dotson and Marquise Bates a full and prompt recovery.
