Claiborne County, MS (July 23, 2025) – Two truck drivers were killed Wednesday morning when their 18-wheelers collided head-on and caught fire along Highway 61 in Claiborne County.
Accident Details: According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. near the intersection with Shiloh Road. One of the drivers, identified as Raul Rosquete, was killed along with the other driver, whose name has not yet been released. Both trucks became engulfed in flames following the impact.
The roadway was closed for several hours as fire crews extinguished the blaze and troopers investigated the scene.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Mississippi Highway Patrol is conducting a full investigation into the collision. Investigators will examine possible fatigue, lane position, cargo loads, and mechanical integrity of both vehicles. In fatal trucking accidents, multiple parties may share legal responsibility, including employers or equipment providers.
