Puneet Singh Sohi and Premjeet Brar Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 70 in Yuba County

YUBA COUNTY, CA (July 11, 2025) – A head-on crash on Highway 70 near Boyer Road claimed the lives of two adults and injured four others, including two children, Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Accident Details: The crash happened around 3:15 p.m. when an 18-year-old Brentwood man driving a Toyota Camry southbound on Highway 70 lost control of his vehicle. The Camry crossed into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a Honda CR-V.

The driver of the CR-V, 41-year-old Puneet Singh Sohi of Roseville, died at the scene. A passenger in the CR-V, 41-year-old Premjeet Brar, died later at the hospital.

Two children in the CR-V, ages 4 and 8, were transported to the hospital with major injuries.

The Camry driver and his passenger, an 18-year-old woman from Brentwood, also sustained major injuries and were hospitalized. Officials have not yet released their names.

Highway 70 was closed for more than two hours while authorities investigated and cleared the scene.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Authorities have not yet determined if impairment was a factor. In cases involving loss of control and crossover crashes, investigators typically review speed, road conditions, vehicle maintenance, and driver conduct.

When a fatal crash causes serious injuries to multiple people, especially children, it often leads to extensive legal and insurance claims. Families may pursue wrongful death or personal injury claims depending on the findings of the investigation.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families of Puneet Singh Sohi and Premjeet Brar and send our thoughts to the children and others injured in this tragic event.
