Unnamed Person Sustained Injuries After Semi-Truck Crashed into a Car and Pushed It into a Gas Station in Littleton, CO

Littleton, CO (March 10, 2026) – A person was injured after a semi-truck crashed into a car and pushed it into a gas station building in Littleton, Colorado.

Incident Details: According to authorities, the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026, after a semi-truck exited southbound Santa Fe Drive onto Belleview Avenue. The truck then left the roadway and entered a QuikTrip parking lot, where it struck a car that had a person inside. The force of the semi-truck’s impact pushed the car into the building.

Emergency responders from South Metro Fire Rescue used extrication equipment to free the occupant of the vehicle, who had been pinned inside. The individual was transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries but has since been released and is expected to make a full recovery.

The semi-truck driver declined medical treatment. At the time of the crash, five employees and roughly two dozen customers were inside the store, but no one else was injured. The building sustained damage and remains closed pending inspection and repairs.

Investigation: The Littleton Police Department is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. Investigators will work to determine why the semi-truck left the roadway after exiting Santa Fe Drive and entered the parking lot.

Authorities will likely examine several factors, including:

  • Driver control and vehicle operation—whether the semi-truck driver lost control due to speed, distraction, fatigue, or another driving error.
  • Mechanical condition of the truck—inspecting the vehicle for potential brake, steering, or mechanical failures.
  • Commercial driving records—reviewing driver logs, training records, and compliance with federal trucking safety regulations.
  • Scene and vehicle evidence—analyzing skid marks, vehicle damage, and witness statements to reconstruct how the truck entered the parking lot and struck the car.

These findings will help determine whether negligence, mechanical issues, or other factors caused the crash.

Legal Considerations: Crashes involving commercial semi-trucks often raise additional liability questions because trucking companies and drivers must follow strict federal safety regulations. If investigators determine the truck driver failed to maintain control of the vehicle, was distracted, fatigued, or operating the truck unsafely, civil liability may apply.

In addition to the driver, the trucking company may also be responsible depending on factors such as vehicle maintenance, driver supervision, and compliance with federal trucking regulations. The injured vehicle occupant may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim seeking compensation for medical expenses, lost income, and other damages resulting from the crash.

My thoughts are with the individual injured in this frightening crash, and I hope they continue to recover well after this traumatic incident.
