San Diego, CA (March 15, 2025) – A 23-year-old pedestrian suffered severe leg fractures and head injuries after being struck by a suspected DUI driver on Miramar Road, according to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD).
Accident Details: The collision occurred at 9532 Miramar Road around 8:41 a.m. when a 39-year-old driver attempted to park his vehicle but instead drove onto the curb, pinning the victim’s leg against a wall. At the time of the incident, the victim was replacing trash bags in front of a business. The victim sustained fractures to his right leg and was suffering from head pain.
Authorities suspect driving under the influence was a contributing factor in the crash and have asked for public assistance in the ongoing investigation.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Driving under the influence severely impairs judgment, reaction time, and motor skills, increasing the likelihood of dangerous and unpredictable driving behaviors—such as losing control in a parking lot. Authorities will examine toxicology reports, surveillance footage, and witness statements to reconstruct the events of the accident.
The victim may have grounds to file a personal injury claim if negligence is found.
I wish the injured pedestrian a full recovery.
