Pedestrian Killed in Palm Springs Collision

Palm Springs, CA (February 13, 2025) – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Thursday evening at the intersection of North Palm Canyon Drive and Yorba Road in Palm Springs.

Accident Details: Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the man lying in the roadway. Despite lifesaving efforts by the Palm Springs Fire Department, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Authorities have stated that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that several aspects of this case warrant further examination. California law requires drivers to exercise caution and yield to pedestrians when crossing streets, particularly at intersections. Investigators will determine whether speeding, distraction, or failing to yield contributed to liability in the crash. They may also examine lighting, crosswalk markings, and visibility at the intersection to assess whether road conditions played a role.

If evidence suggests that negligence contributed to the crash, the victim’s family may have the right to file a wrongful death lawsuit.

I extend my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the victim.
