Pomona, CA (April 6, 2025) – A male pedestrian was tragically killed in a hit-and-run collision early Sunday morning in Pomona. Authorities are actively searching for the driver who fled the scene.
Incident Details: According to the Pomona Police Department, officers responded to the area of Philadelphia Street and Palomares Street at approximately 3:11 a.m. on April 6. Upon arrival, they discovered the male pedestrian with severe injuries. Despite emergency life-saving efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved in the crash fled the area before officers arrived. Police have not released a description of the suspect or details about the vehicle involved. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Pomona Police Department’s Traffic Services Bureau or anonymously via LA Regional Crime Stoppers.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Pomona Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the ongoing investigation.
In California, fleeing the scene of a fatal crash can lead to felony hit-and-run charges. If the driver is located, they could also face vehicular manslaughter charges depending on the findings.
The family of the victim may also pursue a wrongful death claim to seek civil justice and compensation for their loss, including funeral costs, emotional suffering, and loss of financial support.
My sympathies go out to the victim’s family and loved ones.
