Pedestrian Critically Injured in Sacramento Crash

Sacramento, CA (May 16, 2025) — A man in his 50s is not expected to survive after being struck by a vehicle Friday morning in Sacramento, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Incident Details: The collision occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Norwood and Eleanor Avenues. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital in critical condition. By midday, authorities confirmed that the victim’s injuries were considered non-survivable.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police have stated that drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: As the Sacramento Police Department continues to investigate, detectives will focus on identifying the precise cause of the collision. Investigators will likely examine factors such as driver distraction, speed, visibility, and whether the pedestrian was in or near a crosswalk at the time of the crash.

Pending the investigation’s findings, the injured pedestrian’s family may have grounds to pursue a personal injury or wrongful death claim, seeking compensation for medical expenses, funeral costs, and emotional suffering.
