Mira Monte, CA (July 31, 2024) – On July 31, a tragic vehicle versus pedestrian accident occurred in Mira Monte, resulting in the death of 44-year-old Lisa Marie Hester of Ojai.
Accident Details: The incident occurred at approximately 7 a.m. at the intersection of SR-33 and West Villanova Road. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident happened when Hester, who was waiting to cross the intersection from the southwest corner, entered the crosswalk and was struck by a white Chevrolet Express Van driven by a 58-year-old Ojai man. Hester was subsequently rushed to Ventura County Medical Center. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been a factor.
