EVANSVILLE TOWNSHIP, MN (July 10, 2025) – A woman was injured Thursday in a collision involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle in Douglas County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Accident Details: The crash happened near Evansville in Douglas County. According to officials, a Peterbilt semi-truck was heading westbound on Highway 79, while a Honda HRV was also traveling westbound on the I-94 exit ramp. The two vehicles made contact near the intersection of the highway and the exit ramp.
The driver of the semi, a 67-year-old man from Miltona, was not injured. The driver of the Honda, a 71-year-old woman, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Alomere Health Hospital for treatment.
Authorities have not released details about how the collision occurred or what factors may have contributed to the crash.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Minnesota State Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident. In collisions involving large commercial trucks and passenger vehicles, investigators often examine factors such as blind spots, driver attentiveness, right-of-way issues, and speed. Semi-truck accidents can result in serious injuries due to the size and weight of the vehicles involved, even when the crash happens at highway exits or merging lanes.
We wish the injured driver a full and speedy recovery.
