Little Wolf, WI (April 16, 2025) – A man was killed Wednesday night in a three-vehicle crash involving a tractor, a pickup truck, and a car on State Highway 22/110 in the Town of Little Wolf, according to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office.
Accident Details: The crash occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. on northbound Highway 22 near Fuhs Road. Authorities say a pickup truck rear-ended a tractor traveling ahead of it, causing both the tractor’s driver and a male passenger to be ejected from the vehicle. The passenger was then struck by an oncoming car and died at the scene.
The driver of the tractor was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the pickup truck and the car were not reported injured. The identity of the deceased passenger has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Legal Considerations: Rear-end collisions with slow-moving vehicles like tractors often raise issues of following distance, speed, and roadway awareness. Investigators will likely assess whether the pickup driver was distracted or traveling too fast to react appropriately. If negligence is confirmed, the victim’s family may have grounds for a wrongful death claim.
Tractor operators on public roads must also adhere to visibility and lighting regulations, and investigators may examine whether the tractor was adequately marked.
Ongoing Investigation: The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash. No charges or citations have been announced. Officials have not released further information about the condition of the tractor driver or the circumstances leading up to the crash.
I offer my condolences to the family and friends of the man who lost his life in this tragic incident.
