Burlington Township, NJ (March 11, 2025) — A devastating crash between a minivan and a tractor-trailer in Burlington Township claimed the life of one woman and injured two others on Tuesday morning, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.
Incident Overview: The collision occurred just before noon in the 2100 block of Mount Holly Road, directly in front of Liberty Square Center. Witnesses reported hearing a screeching noise moments before the tractor-trailer T-boned the minivan.
A female passenger in the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and an infant passenger were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The tractor-trailer driver remained on the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Investigators closed some of the roadway while documenting tire marks and debris, working to piece together the sequence of events. Authorities are reviewing potential contributing factors, including right-of-way violations, driver distraction, excessive speed, and the visibility and layout of the intersection. An accident reconstruction is underway. Officials have not yet stated whether charges will be filed or citations issued.
Depending on the investigation’s outcome, the family of the deceased woman may be able to pursue a wrongful death claim against the driver and his employer. This claim could compensate the family for lost wages, funeral costs, and pain and suffering. The driver and the injured infant may have personal injury claims to pay them for their pain, suffering, and medical care.
My sincere condolences go out to the deceased family and loved ones. I also wish a full and swift recovery to those injured.
