One Killed in Two-Car Collision at Sunbury Road and Morse Road

Columbus, OH (March 17, 2024) – A two-car collision in northeast Columbus early Sunday morning left one person dead. The crash occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. near the intersection of Sunbury Road and Morse Road.

Incident Details: According to Columbus police, a Chrysler 300 was traveling northbound on Sunbury Road when it collided with a Nissan Altima traveling eastbound on Morse Road. The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles. Emergency responders transported both drivers to a nearby hospital, where the driver of the Chrysler was later pronounced dead. The other driver sustained injuries, though their condition has not been disclosed. Authorities have not yet determined whether speed, impairment, or other factors played a role in the crash.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Intersections are frequent sites of severe collisions, often due to driver error, traffic signal violations, or failure to yield. Investigators will likely examine surveillance footage, witness statements, and vehicle damage to determine fault. Key questions include whether either driver ran a red light, failed to yield, or was driving at an unsafe speed. If either party was found to have been negligent, they may be held liable for damages. Additionally, if a vehicle malfunction or poor road design contributed to the crash, there could be further legal implications. In similar cases, determining who is liable in a car accident is critical in pursuing a claim.

My deepest condolences go out to the victim’s family during this difficult time.
