Morris, IL (August 4, 2025) — A crash involving two semi-trucks early Monday morning shut down all westbound lanes of Interstate 80 near milepost 113, according to the Illinois State Police.
Incident Details: The collision occurred at approximately 5:16 a.m. near the Route 47 exit in Morris. One semi-truck jackknifed while the other overturned, blocking all westbound lanes and causing significant traffic delays. One driver was transported to a local hospital with injuries. Authorities reported that one of the trucks was hauling dry rice. Traffic was diverted off the interstate at Brisbin Road, and lanes were expected to reopen by mid-afternoon. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
