One Injured in Crash Involving Semi-Truck and Four Vehicles on I-270 in Columbus

Columbus, OH (April 20, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck caused major traffic delays and sent one person to the hospital Saturday morning on the north side of Columbus, according to police dispatchers.

Accident Details: The crash occurred on eastbound Interstate 270 near the I-71 interchange. Authorities confirmed that the collision involved a semi-truck and four additional vehicles. One individual was transported to Ohio State University Medical Center in stable condition. The names of those involved have not been released.

The incident resulted in significant traffic delays in the area, but all lanes were later cleared and reopened.

Legal Considerations: Multi-vehicle crashes involving commercial trucks raise concerns about speed, lane changes, and driver attentiveness. Investigators will likely assess whether the semi-truck maintained proper following distance or if sudden braking or merging by another vehicle contributed to the chain-reaction crash.

If it’s determined that the truck driver or another party acted negligently, the injured person may be able to pursue a personal injury claim to recover medical expenses and related damages.

Ongoing Investigation: The crash remains under investigation. Police have not announced any citations or fault determinations as of Sunday morning.

I wish a full and speedy recovery to the person injured in the crash.
