One Injured After 18-Wheeler Overturns on Highway 1090 in Pearl River

PEARL RIVER, LA (July 9, 2025) – A crash involving an overturned 18-wheeler and a passenger car sent one person to the hospital Wednesday morning in Pearl River, according to the St. Tammany Parish Fire Department District No. 11.

Accident Details: The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. on Highway 1090 near Nelson Road. Officials say an 18-wheeler hauling scrap material overturned and struck a nearby car. The driver of the car was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released information about the extent of the driver’s injuries.

Following the crash, Highway 1090 was closed between Jubilee Food and the nearby traffic circle to allow emergency crews to clear the scene.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities are continuing to investigate what caused the truck to overturn. Commercial truck accidents of this nature often lead to questions about vehicle maintenance, cargo securement, and driver safety practices. Overloaded or improperly secured cargo can shift during travel, increasing the risk of rollover crashes, especially in larger vehicles like 18-wheelers.

In collisions involving commercial trucks and passenger vehicles, victims may be eligible to pursue compensation for medical expenses and other losses if negligence is found.

We send our best wishes to the injured driver and hope for a full recovery.
