Nine People Injured in Fiery Two-Vehicle Crash on I‑15 Near Baker

Baker, CA (June 23, 2025) – A collision between a white pickup truck and a silver SUV on northbound Interstate 15 near Halloran Summit Road left nine people injured, including four who were airlifted in critical condition.

Incident Details: The crash occurred at approximately 1:46 p.m. on Monday. Both vehicles sustained significant damage, and one caught fire following the impact. Emergency personnel from Baker Ambulance and San Bernardino County Fire responded alongside multiple Mercy Air helicopters. Four victims were flown to area trauma centers, and five others were transported by ground ambulance.

The northbound lanes of I‑15 were shut down for more than two hours while crews provided aid and cleared the wreckage. Photos from the scene showed debris scattered across the highway and burned remains of one of the vehicles.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The California Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the crash. Authorities will evaluate driver statements, witness accounts, and physical evidence to determine what caused the collision and whether negligence played a role.
