Three Injured in Newark Tractor-Trailer Accident

Newark, DE (August 9, 2025) — Three people were injured early Saturday morning when a tractor-trailer and a car collided at a Newark intersection, authorities said.

Incident Details: The crash occurred just before 5 a.m. at the intersection of Delaware Avenue and Library Avenue. A 25-year-old woman was trapped in the car for about 20 minutes before firefighters freed her. She suffered minor injuries to her extremities and torso and was transported to Christiana Hospital in stable condition. Two other individuals were also taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Newark Police Department is investigating the cause of the collision. Investigators may review vehicle positions, driver actions, and traffic signal compliance to determine liability. Those injured in tractor-trailer crashes may be eligible to pursue claims for medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages.

I wish all three individuals injured in this crash a full and swift recovery.
