Nashville, TN (August 9, 2025) — A 63-year-old motorist was killed early Saturday morning when their vehicle was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer on an interstate in Nashville, according to police.
Incident Details: Authorities report the crash happened around 2:25 a.m. as traffic was congested due to another collision being cleared from the roadway. The victim, driving a Hyundai Elantra, had slowed down when a tractor-trailer struck the car from behind. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said there were no signs of impairment on the part of either driver.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Nashville police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash, including whether speed, following distance, or reaction time were factors. Fatal tractor-trailer collisions can lead to wrongful death claims by surviving family members, which may help address funeral expenses, lost income, and other damages.
I extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim.
