Baldwin Park, CA (February 4, 2025) – Authorities have identified Sonny Provencio, 24, as the victim of a fatal pedestrian crash on a freeway connector in Baldwin Park early Tuesday morning.
Accident Details: According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), officers responded to the scene around 2:09 a.m. after reports that Provencio had been struck by multiple vehicles on the transition road from the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway to the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway. CHP officers found Provencio in the first and second lanes of the connector.
Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that investigators will examine several factors to determine the cause of the collision and assess liability. Investigators will examine many factors, including the behavior of all drivers, lighting, road conditions, and vehicle conditions.
The family of Sonny Provencio may consider a wrongful death lawsuit if evidence shows that driver negligence, unsafe road conditions, or a mechanical malfunction contributed to the crash. Compensation from such a claim could address funeral costs, loss of financial support, and emotional suffering.
I extend my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Sonny Provencio during this challenging time.
