Jamacha, CA (February 7, 2025) – Authorities have identified Michael Droegemeier, 48, and Lowell McCrea, 32, as the victims of a fatal multi-vehicle crash that occurred late Friday night.
Accident Details: The collision occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Willow Glen Drive in the Jamacha area, north of Jamul. According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, Droegemeier was driving a vehicle that collided with at least one other car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, El Cajon resident Lowell McCrea, was pronounced dead at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.
Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that several aspects of this case warrant further examination. Key considerations include all drivers’ behavior, road conditions, and mechanical malfunctions.
If negligence is found, depending on the facts, Droegemeier and McCrea’s families may be able to file wrongful death lawsuits against any liable parties to seek compensation for funeral costs, loss of companionship, and emotional trauma. Even if Droegemeier is found partially at fault, if another party is also found negligent, his family may be able to recover reduced compensation based on California’s comparative negligence laws.
I extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of Michael Droegemeier and Lowell McCrea during this heartbreaking time.
