Motorcyclist Killed by Suspected DUI Driver in Merced

Merced, CA (May 3, 2025) –  A motorcyclist was killed Saturday evening in Merced after being struck by a suspected drunk driver.

Accident Details:  The collision occurred just before 5 p.m. near the intersection of Olive Avenue and G Street. Police say a man, believed to be around 30 years old, was riding a motorcycle when he was hit and killed by a driver who was allegedly under the influence.

The suspect is a woman from Texas, according to the Merced Police Department. Her identity and further details about the circumstances of the crash have not yet been released.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Driving under the influence impairs a person’s ability to safely operate a vehicle and make sound decisions on the road. Police will continue to investigate the crash, likely reviewing witness accounts, physical evidence at the scene, and test results regarding impairment.

Depending on the findings, the motorcyclist’s family may be able to file a wrongful death claim against the driver.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the motorcyclist.
