Motorcyclist Killed in Crash at East 10th Street and 5th Avenue in Oakland

OAKLAND, CA (July 9, 2025) – A motorcyclist died Wednesday morning after a collision with a vehicle in Oakland’s Eastlake neighborhood, according to the Oakland Police Department.

Accident Details: The crash occurred just after 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of East 10th Street and 5th Avenue. Police say the motorcycle was traveling southbound on 5th Avenue when a vehicle traveling eastbound on East 10th Street collided with the rider.

First responders found the motorcyclist seriously injured at the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they later died from their injuries. The motorcyclist’s name has not yet been released.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Oakland Police Department is investigating the crash. Authorities have not yet determined whether speed, alcohol, or drugs were factors.
