Lakeside, CA (May 19, 2025) – A 31-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Sunday night while riding his motorcycle on State Route 67 in Lakeside, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Incident Details: The crash occurred around 10:15 p.m. on northbound SR-67 near Slaughterhouse Canyon Road. Authorities say the motorcyclist was riding a 2008 Yamaha R6 when he collided with a gray Toyota Prius. The impact ejected him from the motorcycle, after which he was struck by at least one additional vehicle that fled the scene. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: CHP investigators are seeking the identity of the hit-and-run driver. They are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward. It has not been determined if drugs, alcohol, or speed played a role in the crash.
