Santa Clarita, CA (September 21, 2024) – On Saturday, 32-year-old Kevyn Sarner of Saugus tragically lost his life in a solo motorcycle crash on the northbound side of Sierra Highway near Mint Canyon Road.
Accident Details: According to a report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident occurred around 11 a.m. when Sarner veered onto the shoulder of the road and collided with a block wall. Sarner suffered multiple blunt force trauma from the impact. After striking the wall, both he and the motorcycle hit the ground. Emergency responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived shortly after the crash. Sarner was pronounced dead at the scene.
Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that further investigation could reveal factors that contributed to the incident. It’s essential to explore whether the road conditions, the design of the highway, or any nearby hazards may have played a role. In particular, an inquiry could examine:
- Road Maintenance: Were there any road defects, such as potholes or uneven pavement, that may have caused Sarner to lose control?
- Visibility and Signage: Was the area adequately marked with warning signs, especially near the block wall? Could improved visibility or signage have prevented the crash?
- Mechanical Failure: Could a defect or malfunction in the motorcycle have led to Sarner’s loss of control? A thorough examination of the bike’s maintenance records might be necessary to rule out mechanical failure as a contributing factor.
If any evidence surfaces that negligence caused the accident, Sarner’s family may be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit and recover compensation for the loss of their loved one. This compensation may include funeral expenses, loss of financial support, and emotional distress.
I extend my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Kevyn Sarner during this incredibly difficult time.
