Motorcyclist John Gardner Turner Jr. Killed in Crash on Highway 178 Near Ridgecrest

Ridgecrest, CA (June 4, 2025) — An 85-year-old Ridgecrest man was killed Wednesday night in a motorcycle crash on Highway 178, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.

Incident Details: The collision occurred around 8:20 p.m. on Highway 178 at North Calvert Boulevard. Authorities say John Gardner Turner Jr. was riding a motorcycle when he collided with another vehicle. He was transported to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
