Motorcycle Collision in Garden Grove Kills Santiago Higareda Jr.

Garden Grove, CA (January 7, 2025) – A fatal collision occurred on the evening of Tuesday, January 7, 2024, in Garden Grove, involving a Yamaha motorcycle and a 2017 Audi A6.

Accident Details: The crash occurred around 10 p.m. in the 12000 block of Euclid Street, near Chapman Avenue and north of the Garden Grove (22) Freeway. The motorcyclist, identified as 36-year-old Santiago Higareda Jr., was found unresponsive at the scene. Despite paramedics’ efforts, he was pronounced deceased on-site. The driver of the Audi remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and it is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that several aspects of this case warrant further examination. Authorities will examine whether either party acted negligently. Investigators will seek to determine whether speeding, distracted driving, failure to yield, or other violations contributed to the crash. They will also examine the mechanical function of the Audi and Yamaha and inspect the road conditions for defects or other maintenance issues.

Higareda’s family may consider filing a wrongful death claim if evidence reveals another party’s negligence contributed to the crash. Wrongful death claims can seek compensation for funeral expenses, loss of companionship, and emotional suffering.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Santiago Higareda Jr. during this incredibly difficult time.
