Monticello, MN (May 20, 2025) – A crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle on Interstate 94 near Monticello sent two people to the hospital Monday afternoon, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Incident Details: The collision occurred in the westbound lanes of I-94 around 12:40 p.m. Officials report that a 2020 Chevy Silverado was stopped in traffic when it was rear-ended by a 2021 Freightliner semi-truck. The driver of the Silverado, a 47-year-old man from Eden Prairie, and his 43-year-old passenger from Chicago were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Minnesota State Patrol is continuing its investigation to determine if factors such as distracted driving, speed, or mechanical failure contributed to the crash. No citations or charges have been announced at this time.
