Mohammad Matin Injured, One Killed in Rollover Crash on Highway 65 in Yuba County

Yuba County, CA (April 2, 2025) – A violent rollover crash on Highway 65 in Olivehurst claimed the life of an 18-year-old North Highlands man and left multiple others injured, including Mohammad Matin, 20, of Roseville, who sustained moderate injuries.

Incident Details: The crash occurred around 2:10 p.m. when a 2015 Toyota Camry attempted to pass a 2025 Honda Accord. The Honda reportedly turned left, colliding with the right rear of the Camry, sending it into a spin off the road and over the McGowan Parkway overpass, where it overturned several times. Good Samaritans pulled the Toyota’s driver from the wreck and attempted CPR, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Matin and another passenger, Mirwais Ghafory of Olivehurst, were taken to Adventist Health/Rideout Medical Center with moderate and minor injuries, respectively. The Honda’s driver, Martin Abdul-Khalegh, 22, and his passenger Muhammad Entizar Mustafa, 19, also suffered injuries. A second adult passenger in the Honda was uninjured.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Authorities will likely review whether the Honda’s turning maneuver was conducted safely and whether other factors like speed or distracted driving contributed. The victims injured in the Toyota may have grounds for a personal injury claim if the other driver is found at fault.
