Milk Spill Follows Tractor-Trailer Crash in Ohio; Driver Cited

Gallipolis Township, OH (July 23, 2025) – A tractor-trailer crash in Gallipolis Township resulted in thousands of gallons of milk spilled and the driver receiving a citation, though no injuries were reported.

Accident Details: According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened Wednesday morning when a milk truck overturned at the ramp from U.S. Route 35 to State Route 7. Approximately 3,500 gallons of milk were spilled across the roadway.

The driver was cited for failure to maintain control.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Investigators concluded that excessive speed for the curve was likely a factor. Cleanup crews responded quickly to manage the environmental impact. While no one was hurt, the trucking company may be liable for environmental cleanup and traffic disruption costs.

I am grateful there were no injuries in this incident.
