Multiple People Injured in Marstons Mills Crash Involving Moving Truck and Passenger Car

Marstons Mills, MA (September 29, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle collision in Barnstable’s Marstons Mills village left several people injured Monday morning.

Accident Details: The crash occurred shortly after 8:45 a.m. near the intersection of Great Hill Drive and Oak Street. A commercial moving truck with three occupants collided with a passenger vehicle carrying a single occupant. The driver of the smaller car was pinned inside the wreckage.

Firefighters deployed hydraulic rescue tools to cut through the vehicle and safely free the trapped driver. A MedFlight helicopter was initially requested due to the severity of the injuries, but officials ultimately transported the victim by ground ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital as a trauma alert.

Two of the three individuals from the moving truck sustained minor injuries and were also transported to a hospital. The third passenger declined medical treatment at the scene.

Investigation: The crash remains under investigation. As with most serious two-vehicle crashes, investigators will review physical evidence at the scene, including vehicle resting positions, debris patterns, and skid marks, to reconstruct the chain of events.

They will also likely evaluate traffic conditions at the intersection of Great Hill Drive and Oak Street to determine whether factors such as visibility, right-of-way, or speed contributed to the crash. Witness statements from those at the scene and passengers in the moving truck will help clarify how both vehicles were traveling in the moments leading up to the impact.

Additionally, officials may inspect the moving truck’s maintenance records and, if equipped, its onboard telematics system for details on braking, steering, or speed. The passenger vehicle may also be examined for mechanical issues to see if equipment failure contributed.

Legal Considerations: Crashes involving commercial vehicles can be complex because they often involve multiple parties, extensive regulations, and higher risks of severe injury. Investigators will need to determine the actions of each party to establish accountability. If negligence is found, such as unsafe driving, failure to yield, or mechanical deficiencies, injured parties may have grounds for personal injury claims.

In such cases, potential compensation may cover hospital bills, ongoing medical treatment, rehabilitation, and lost wages. Victims may also seek damages for pain and suffering, as well as the long-term effects of their injuries.

My thoughts are with the driver who sustained critical injuries and everyone affected by this collision.
