Westmont, CA (April 12, 2025) – Two women were killed and four others hospitalized after a violent two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in the Westmont neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Incident Details: Authorities responded to reports of a collision just after 12:10 a.m. at the intersection of Normandie Avenue and Century Boulevard. A Honda CR-V, traveling eastbound on Century, collided with a Buick traveling north on Normandie. The Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced 45-year-old Maria Caamal and Maria Chan Chale dead at the scene. Four other victims sustained injuries ranging from moderate to major and were transported to a local hospital. Photos from the scene show shattered glass and debris scattered across the roadway.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and has indicated that a red-light violation may have contributed to the collision. Investigators will assess traffic signal data, vehicle speed, and possible impairment.
