Modesto, CA (August 5, 2025) — A man died Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Yosemite Boulevard, according to the Modesto Police Department.
Incident Details: The crash occurred near Santa Cruz Avenue when a Toyota Tacoma traveling eastbound on Yosemite Boulevard, west of Santa Barbara Avenue, struck the pedestrian. First responders provided medical aid, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained on site and cooperated with police. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Police have not yet indicated whether drugs or alcohol played a role.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Investigators will work to determine whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk, the vehicle’s speed, and if visibility or driver attentiveness contributed to the collision. Key evidence will include witness statements, roadway measurements, and surveillance or dashcam footage.
