Jurupa Valley, CA (September 30, 2025) – One person died early Tuesday following a collision involving a semi-truck and a vehicle near Agua Mansa Road and Brown Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Accident Details: Deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station responded at approximately 1:59 a.m. to the area for a report of a major-injury crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The semi-truck driver remained on site and cooperated with responding deputies as fire and medical personnel secured the roadway, provided aid, and collected preliminary information. Portions of Agua Mansa Road were temporarily closed between Brown Road and El Rivino Avenue during the investigation and cleanup.
Investigation: The Jurupa Valley Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team assumed the investigation. Detectives are documenting impact points, roadway markings, and vehicle damage patterns to reconstruct the sequence of events and identify contributing factors. As part of standard commercial-vehicle protocol, investigators may evaluate hours-of-service compliance, maintenance records, and any onboard data or dash-camera footage from the semi-truck. Authorities said it remains unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor. The victim’s identity will be released by the Coroner’s Bureau pending notification of next of kin.
Legal Considerations: Collisions involving a semi-truck often present complex questions regarding liability and damages. The decedent’s family may consider a wrongful death claim covering funeral costs, loss of support, and other compensable harms. Evidence preservation is critical—ECM/EDR downloads, carrier records, scene photographs, and witness statements can help determine responsibility. Depending on findings, liability may extend to the driver, motor carrier, maintenance contractors, or other entities if equipment or compliance issues contributed.
My sincere condolences go out to the loved ones of the person who lost their life in this Jurupa Valley crash.
