Jurupa Valley, CA (July 6, 2025) – A 23-year-old man from Jurupa Valley was arrested early Saturday following a two-vehicle collision that killed two people and injured several others.
Accident Details: The crash occurred around 2:50 a.m. at the intersection of Limonite Avenue and Beach Street. Responding deputies found two vehicles in the eastbound lanes, including a van carrying multiple unrestrained passengers. Two individuals in the van were pronounced dead at the scene. Several others, including both drivers, were transported to the hospital for treatment of various injuries.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, investigators determined that the van’s driver, Bryan Cruz-Arenas, was under the influence at the time of the crash. He was arrested and booked on two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and one count of DUI causing injury or death. Under California law, DUI crashes resulting in fatalities may result in felony charges, prison time, and potential civil liability in the form of wrongful death lawsuits.
