Jesse Rollins Killed in Crash with Semi-Truck in Alachua County

Alachua County, FL (March 10, 2025) – A collision between a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck claimed the life of 33-year-old Jesse Rollins on Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine what caused the fatal impact.

Incident Overview: The incident occurred when Rollins, driving a car, entered County Road 219A from a stop sign. A northbound semi-truck on CR 219A was unable to stop in time and struck the car. Emergency responders pronounced Rollins dead at the scene. The condition of the semi-truck driver has not been released.

Traffic in the area was temporarily shut down as investigators cleared the scene.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The FHP continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash, examining potential causes, including driver error, vehicle malfunction, and road conditions. Officials have not yet confirmed whether impairment, speeding, or distraction played a role.

Depending on investigation findings, the Rollins family may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim. Such claims often seek compensation for burial costs, lost income, and emotional damages. The trucking company could also be held liable if the semi-truck’s operation or maintenance violated state or federal safety regulations.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the Rollins family and all those mourning his passing.
