Bakersfield, CA (July 14, 2025) – A 19-year-old man was allegedly under the influence when he caused a fatal collision in Bakersfield, resulting in the death of 24-year-old Jason Munoz-Cruz.
Accident Details: The crash occurred in the early morning hours of July 14 on Union Avenue, when the driver reportedly struck a pedestrian and then a tree. Munoz-Cruz was found unresponsive and later died from his injuries.
Court records reveal that partygoers allegedly observed the driver consuming alcohol prior to the incident. He reportedly admitted to drinking tequila and had a blood alcohol content over the legal limit.
