Innocent Driver Injured in DUI Pursuit Crash at Sherman Way and Corbin Avenue in Winnetka

WINNETKA, CA (July 16, 2025) – A woman was injured Wednesday afternoon when a DUI suspect fleeing from police crashed into multiple vehicles at an intersection in Winnetka, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Accident Details: The crash occurred around 12:15 p.m. at the intersection of Sherman Way and Corbin Avenue. LAPD officers had initiated a short pursuit near Hart Street and Independence Avenue, but within moments the suspect slammed into at least one other vehicle.

The collision involved three cars, and one of them caught fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.

Paramedics extracted a woman from a white SUV, placed her in a wheelchair, and transported her to an ambulance. Her current condition has not been disclosed.

The suspect, who has not yet been identified, attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended at the scene. Authorities reported that no officers were injured in the incident.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Los Angeles Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash. DUI pursuit collisions often involve serious legal consequences, including criminal charges for reckless endangerment, driving under the influence, and leaving the scene.
