Rollover Crash on Hwy 99 Claims Life of 12-Year-Old Ian Brady, Injures 3 Others

Fresno County, CA (March 23, 2024) – A devastating rollover crash on Highway 99, just north of Clovis Avenue, resulted in the death of a 12-year-old boy and left three men with major injuries on Saturday evening. The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has identified the young victim as Ian Brady of Parlier.

Incident Details: The crash occurred around 6:05 p.m. when a southbound truck flipped over. It was raining heavily at the time of the accident. Authorities say Ian Brady was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The three men in the truck were rushed to CRMC with major injuries. Sergeant Benito Munoz of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicated that the crash was most likely weather-related and that there was no evidence of speeding by the truck.

Investigation and Safety Measures: The CHP is investigating the circumstances of the crash, including whether seatbelts were worn by the occupants. There is no suspicion of drugs or alcohol being a factor in this tragic event and it appears that the truck wasn’t speeding. Determining liability in this crash will require more information about the condition of the vehicle, the actions of the driver, and other investigative details. Depending on the results of the investigation, the Ian’s family may be able to file a wrongful death claim for their loss.

My thoughts are with Ian’s friends and family after this horrific crash. I hope that they receive all of the support they need during this difficult time.
