Hollywood, Florida (September 6, 2025) — A driver was hospitalized Saturday evening after an SUV collided with a Walmart tractor-trailer in Hollywood, according to local authorities.
Incident Details: Hollywood Police and Fire Rescue responded around 5:35 p.m. to the 2600 block of Sheridan Street. Emergency crews extricated the driver of a black Honda CR-V from the wreckage after the SUV collided with the Walmart 18-wheeler. The victim was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital as a trauma alert. Their condition has not yet been released. Images from the scene showed the SUV with its windshield shattered and front end destroyed, while the tractor-trailer came to a stop off to the side of the roadway.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Hollywood Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash. Investigators will examine whether driver error, vehicle failure, or traffic violations played a role. Victims of tractor-trailer collisions often have grounds to pursue personal injury claims for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Liability in such cases may extend to both the truck driver and the corporate entity that owns the vehicle.
My thoughts are with the injured driver, and I hope for their full recovery following this Hollywood truck accident.
