Pomona, CA (July 5, 2024) – A family is heartbroken after 57-year-old Carol Fuentes, a mother of six, was killed in a tragic hit-and-run accident.
Accident Details: The crash occurred around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Garey and Orange Grove avenues. Three vehicles were involved. The driver of a Ford Expedition who caused the crash fled the scene and remains at large. Fuentes, who was in a Nissan, was severely injured. Another individual was also injured. After being hospitalized for over a week, Carol Fuentes succumbed to her severe injuries.
Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that several aspects of this case warrant further examination. Law enforcement agencies are working to identify and apprehend the driver responsible. This investigation involves gathering witness testimonies, reviewing surveillance footage, and leveraging any available forensic evidence from the scene. If the at-fault driver is identified, they can be held criminally and civilly liable. The family of the deceased may pursue a wrongful death claim to cover the loss of financial support, funeral costs, and compensation for their profound emotional distress.
My sincerest condolences are with the family and friends of Carol Fuentes during this difficult and heartbreaking time. Her family has set up a GoFundMe account to help pay for funeral expenses. Please contribute if you can.
