Quincy, CA (April 8, 2025) – A head-on collision in the Feather River Canyon early Tuesday morning left three people seriously injured, prompting emergency crews to airlift all parties to Enloe Health for treatment. The crash involved a reckless driver traveling the wrong way on Highway 70, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Incident Details: At approximately 6:49 a.m., CHP dispatch received a report of a dark green Acura sedan being driven recklessly, swerving between lanes, and traveling on the wrong side of the highway. An officer was dispatched to intercept the vehicle, but before they could arrive, a head-on collision involving the same Acura was reported at around 6:58 a.m.
Authorities say 53-year-old Jeremy Genn of Oakdale was driving the Acura with a female passenger when he entered a blind curve near Rush Creek while still in the wrong lane. The sedan collided head-on with a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a 62-year-old man from Quincy.
The crash caused significant damage to both vehicles, and all three individuals involved sustained serious injuries. Emergency responders arrived quickly, and air ambulances were called to the scene to transport the victims to Enloe Health for further treatment. Following an extensive cleanup and removal of the wrecked vehicles, Highway 70 was reopened to traffic within three hours.
Authorities ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has additional information to contact the Quincy CHP Office as the case unfolds.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The CHP has confirmed that Genn’s reckless driving caused the crash. The agency stated that charges would be filed against him for reckless driving resulting in injury, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Depending on the final outcome of the investigation, Glenn may face civil liability for the injuries sustained by his passenger and the pickup driver. The other injured parties may have grounds to pursue personal injury claims to recover compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
I send my wishes for a full recovery to the injured victims.
