Vista, CA (February 19, 2025) – Heath Ogle, 35, was found dead next to an electric skateboard in the 2200 block of North Santa Fe Avenue in Vista.
Accident Details: The accident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, a passerby discovered Ogle’s body, and investigators believe he was struck by a vehicle in a suspected hit-and-run. Ogle was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that several aspects of this case warrant further examination. Authorities will conduct a detailed investigation to identify the suspected hit-and-run driver and determine what happened. Investigators will analyze vehicle debris, skid marks, and impact patterns to identify the vehicle.
Hit-and-run accidents are a violation of California traffic law. Leaving the scene of an accident breaches a driver’s duty to report the accident and render aid. If a victim is killed in a hit-and-run or a pedestrian crash due to another’s negligence, the victim’s family may have grounds to file a wrongful death claim.
I offer my sincerest condolences to Heath Ogle’s family and friends during this difficult time.
