Hamilton City, CA (March 2, 2025) – A fatal collision between a Tesla and a Harley Davidson motorcycle on Sunday resulted in the tragic death of 43-year-old Jeremy Steven Rosales.
Accident Details: The crash occurred at approximately 6:35 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 32 and Sacramento Avenue. Authorities state that a 40-year-old man from Hamilton City was driving a 2022 Tesla westbound on Highway 32 with two child passengers (ages 14 and 13). The Tesla driver attempted a left turn onto southbound Sacramento Avenue but did not see Rosales’s 2022 Harley Davidson approaching eastbound. Rosales collided with the front left side of the Tesla. The impact propelled Rosales and his motorcycle further east, where he struck a stop sign at the intersection’s southeast corner. Rosales was ejected from his motorcycle and found unresponsive on the roadside. Despite the emergency response, Rosales was pronounced deceased at 6:56 p.m.
The Tesla driver was uninjured, while his two passengers sustained minor injuries. Rosales was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Investigators do not believe drugs and alcohol were not factors.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Investigators will examine multiple factors to determine whether negligence played a role. Drivers making left turns are legally required to yield to oncoming traffic before turning. Authorities will assess whether inattentiveness, distraction, or misjudgment contributed to the crash.
Authorities have not confirmed whether the Tesla’s headlights or the Harley Davidson’s lights were on, which could impact visibility in low-light conditions. Investigators may also examine whether either vehicle traveled at an unsafe speed before the impact. They will look to traffic cameras and other surveillance footage to determine if speed or slow reaction time contributed to the crash.
Depending on the investigation’s findings, Rosales’s family may have grounds for a wrongful death claim.
I extend my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Jeremy Steven Rosales during this difficult time.
