Victorville, CA (September 22, 2025) – A woman was hospitalized after her GMC Terrain sustained catastrophic damage in a collision with a flatbed work truck on Interstate 15 Monday afternoon.
Accident Details: According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 1:08 p.m. on northbound I-15, just south of the Mojave Drive offramp. The GMC Terrain collided with a United Rentals flatbed truck and sustained extensive structural damage, including a sheared roof. Emergency dispatchers were alerted through an OnStar airbag deployment notification, prompting a rapid response from Victorville Fire and AMR crews.
Injuries and Emergency Response: Authorities confirmed that the GMC driver, a woman who was the sole occupant, was walking at the scene following the collision. She was later transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The flatbed truck sustained moderate damage, while debris from the collision temporarily blocked multiple freeway lanes and part of the Mojave Drive offramp.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: CHP officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. Although a tractor-trailer was initially thought to be involved, officers confirmed it only stopped to provide a witness statement. Truck crashes of this nature can leave victims facing serious injuries, significant medical expenses, and lost income. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, liability may extend to the truck driver, the trucking company, or other parties if negligence or safety violations are identified.
I wish the injured driver a full recovery following this Victorville truck crash.
