Bakersfield, MO (May 30, 2025) — A 26-year-old man from Gepp, Arkansas, was hospitalized Friday evening following a two-vehicle crash in Ozark County involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Incident Details: The collision occurred around 5:00 p.m. on State Highway AR near Foster Feed in Bakersfield. Investigators say a 43-year-old man from Wynne, Arkansas, was driving a 2000 Peterbilt semi-truck when he pulled into the path of a southbound 2023 Hyundai. The Hyundai was unable to stop in time and crashed into the side of the semi, resulting in moderate injuries to the Gepp man.
Emergency crews transported the injured driver to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home. The Hyundai was declared a total loss, and the semi-truck sustained extensive damage. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities continue investigating whether the driver failed to yield or violated traffic control laws. They will also examine whether other factors, such as roadway conditions or mechanical issues, contributed to the crash.
Depending on the outcome of the investigation, the injured driver may be entitled to pursue a personal injury claim to recover compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and property damage.
I hope the injured driver makes a full and swift recovery.
